This book is a series of blessings designed to leverage the growth of your spirit. It begins with a fathering theme. For 40 days, legitimacy and identity are explored from the Father's perspective. Then after we have seen ourselves from God's perspective, He invites us to see Him. There are 21 more days of blessings flowing from the names of God.
Finally at the end of the book there is a list of verses that describe the range of activities and emotions of the human spirit. We have such an emphasis on the work of the Holy Spirit that most people do not have a working theology of their own spirit.
We must focus on speaking to our spirits and the spirits of others, asking God to bring into our lives a massive amount of challenge, nurture, stimulation and direction for the spirit. A person's spirit should rule the soul, but it doesn't get there automatically or accidentally.
Being filled with the Spirit means that God's Spirit in you infuses and controls your spirit, soul, and body. When your spirit is controlled by His Spirit and is dominant over your soul, your whole person is conformed to God's truth and His intention for you.

Profoundly effective in encouraging people close to you and yourself! As I read these blessings to the people I love I'm blessed and it's a win/win all around. I'm writing this review now because I'm so impressed with simply the first seven blessings, I've been reading and meditating on those and they're great. And I still have to do the rest of the book! It's a great resource that I'll be availing myself to for years, I have no doubt. When I first got it and flipped through it, I got deep chills (the good kind) just glancing over the material. It seems to have blessings for so many stages of life. Very empowering if encouraging your spirit and living from it is an important thing to you.
This is my favorite book of all times. It has amazing prayers that you can insert someones name into them them and it is just so uplifting. It truly does bring life to the one your reading or praying the blessing over. I have used this book for several years and it is the best. Everyone needs one of these books.

If you are wanting to grow deeper and even helping a spouse or children, this is a great prayer guide.
I have prayed this over my husband and have seen changes in his attitude within hours. It is just reminding him of who he is in Christ.
I heard about this book through a speaker in a conference. Bought the kindle version and downloaded to my ipad which was very simple and very quick. Then I started to read the book and read the day 1 blessing over and over again couple times... Now, I am on day 20 blessings and the words are getting more and more powerful and stronger. I can feel that my spirit is getting stronger through these blessings. I have recorded the daily blessings on my digital recorder and synced them to my ipod and have been listening to it over and over again. It's very powerful. I am enjoying these blessings very much. We all need to claim the blessings God has already given us through Jesus. This book will surely help in doing that.
Praying the heart of God using His Word and promises out loud is building my faith for myself and others. I'm seeing mountains move. I start out proclaiming and declaring that when I speak to the person whose name I put in the blank, that I am actually speaking to...and I list the names of everyone that I want included in the prayer.
When I endured a tragic hardship and no words were comforting.....when I was "crushed in spirit"...this book helped me climb out and breathe again. At first I was apprehensive as it seemed selfish to bless yourself. Then I realized this book really was straight from the Holy Spirit. God "is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit". Its true and He used this book to "save me" from the darkness of tragedy and have hope again. I have gifted it to others in seasons of their brokenness.
